All the world is a twitter?

Kudos to this English teacher for using Twitter in the classroom.  They had students fix NFL athletes' tweets.

  1. what a great idea! Students are learning using technology (twitter) in the "traditional" and fun way. They are learning editing and grammar while looking at something they see every day! thanks for sharing this awesome picture!!

  2. When I saw this post I thought of a story my professor for my EDU 3200 class told us last week about a teacher who had received a fake excuse note from one of his students that was so funny and imaginative that he decided to take a look back at all the excuse notes from that year (he always saved them in his desk) and use it as a learning tool since he was having trouble getting his students to write more than just a few sentences or one or two paragraphs for their writing assignments. He chose some of the most out there and extreme ones such as not being able to hand in homework because their house had burned down and the firemen refused to let him back into the house to get his homework assignment, and had the students create their own excuse notes as long as they made up the most detailed and creative excuse note possible. The students got really into the lesson and began writing pages and pages of the most bizarre and creative excuse notes ever.

  3. thats really fun and really cool lol. I like this idea a lot, especially for an english class. Many kids look up to these athletes or celebrities on twitter, not thinking that much of what they say online is flawed grammar. Excellent use of technology in the classroom in my estimation.

  4. Very interesting! What students wrote on twitter is always words they want to say the most or things they are very happy to share, so they will not have feelings like "Writing is my homework, I have to write." It is easy to keep going and practicing.
